Brussels, Belgium, September 6th, 2024, Chainwire – Aleph Zero, a cutting-edge blockchain ecosystem renowned for its speed, data confidentiality, and development ease, has recently joined the CAMARA Foundation as a General Member. This strategic move signifies a major milestone in integrating advanced blockchain technology with global telecommunications standards, particularly in the field of Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs).

As a General Member, Aleph Zero will collaborate closely with leading telecom and tech companies within CAMARA to drive and contribute to blockchain-specific projects. A primary focus of this partnership will be the Blockchain Public Address API, which has the potential to revolutionize user interactions with blockchain technologies via mobile devices.

The CAMARA Project, established under the Linux Foundation and GSMA in 2021, aims to establish standardized APIs for telecom networks. This initiative seeks to simplify network complexities and provide seamless access to network capabilities across various operators and countries. A key component of this endeavor is the Blockchain Public Address API, initiated in June 2023 and currently in version 0.1.0. The CAMARA Project now boasts over 230 companies and 650 individual participants, including industry giants like Deutsche Telekom, stc, Vodafone, and Telefónica.

This API enables the management of blockchain addresses linked to phone numbers, offering functionalities such as retrieving blockchain public addresses associated with phone numbers and binding and unbinding these addresses. By utilizing blockchain public addresses as DIDs, the API empowers telecom service providers to simplify transactions for end-users by enabling third parties to pair phone numbers with blockchain addresses.

Aleph Zero’s expertise in zero-knowledge proofs and privacy-preserving technologies will play a crucial role in advancing the group’s blockchain solutions.

Antoni Zolciak, co-founder at Aleph Zero, stated: “The integration of blockchain technology into mainstream infrastructure is rapidly accelerating. Forward-thinking organizations across various sectors are recognizing the transformative potential of distributed ledger technologies. We look forward to collaborating with Foundation members and contributing to telecommunications APIs from a blockchain perspective.”

Aleph Zero, renowned for its secure, scalable, and privacy-focused blockchain ecosystem, continues to push the boundaries of blockchain technology with its zkOS and EVM Layer 2 network. Recently, Aleph Zero launched its EVM-layer, an exceptionally fast and efficient blockchain with a block time of up to 250 milliseconds and near-instant transaction finality.
