Breaking News: Funds See Record Net Savings of 132 Billion SEK So Far This Year

According to latest data, equity funds have seen net deposits totaling a whopping 108 billion SEK this year. Short-term bond funds had the highest net inflow last month at 5.9 billion SEK, followed by long-term bond funds at 0.7 billion SEK. However, there were net withdrawals from equity funds and mixed funds amounting to 3.2 billion SEK and 1.1 billion SEK respectively.

Global funds continued to be the most popular category, attracting a net inflow of 4.6 billion SEK last month. The second most popular category was North America funds with a net inflow of 0.5 billion SEK.

Sweden funds experienced a net outflow of 2.6 billion SEK in August, a stark contrast to July when the category had net inflows of 4.5 billion SEK.

It’s worth noting that interest in sector funds decreased significantly last month, with a net outflow of 1.8 billion SEK compared to a net inflow of over 1.4 billion SEK in September. Most of the outflow is believed to have come from technology funds.

Throughout the year, global funds have seen the highest net inflow of 104 billion SEK, almost matching the entire net inflow to equity funds this year. Sweden funds, sector funds, and North America funds are other popular categories with significant net inflows this year.

Index funds continued to see a net inflow of 3.4 billion SEK in August. Year-to-date, net deposits amount to 61.8 billion SEK, representing 57% of the total net inflow to equity funds this year.

Long-term bond funds had a net inflow of 0.7 billion SEK, with 165 million SEK coming from net deposits in corporate bond funds.

So far this year, long-term bond funds have seen a total net inflow of 33 billion SEK, half of which is from net deposits in corporate bond funds.

Short-term bond funds had a net inflow of 5.9 billion SEK. Year-to-date, short-term bond funds have seen a total net inflow of 9.8 billion SEK. Even mixed funds, which were previously a popular category, had a tough month with net outflows of 1.1 billion SEK. Savers have withdrawn a total of 23.1 billion SEK from mixed funds this year.
