Shortly before 1pm on Thursday afternoon, in the midst of the Pope’s procession, three activists from the animal rights group PETA jumped over barriers and approached the Popemobile with hands folded in prayer. They were swiftly stopped by the Swiss Guard and Luxembourg police, and were escorted away without any injuries. The procession resumed shortly after the incident.
