Former leader of Venstre, Jakob Ellemann-Jensen, made it clear: Venstre should not go back, Venstre should move forward. This means not just returning to the conservative family in the Blue Bloc.
However, the current leader of Venstre, Troels Lund Poulsen, has a different perspective on the matter.
Troels Lund Poulsen wants to go back – understood as returning to a purely conservative government coalition. As a replacement for the SVM government led by Mette Frederiksen, the leader of the Social Democrats.
He expressed this view while on stage at the Danish Industry Summit, DI Summit, at Bella Center on Thursday.
The words were spoken as Venstre’s party leader was on stage with the Conservatives’ Mona Juul and Liberal Alliance’s Alex Vanopslagh.
– I hope a blue government can be formed, said Venstre’s leader.
Troels Lund Poulsen was elected as party leader in November 2023. At that time, he declared that Venstre would aim for maximum influence after an election – and based on that, assess how the party should position itself after an upcoming election.

He also adds that Venstre is satisfied with being the conservative party in the broad SVM government.
