The Power of Prayer: Jakim Offers Solat Hajat for Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen

As the world faces ongoing conflicts and turmoil in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, the Islamic Development Department of Malaysia (Jakim) is taking a powerful step towards seeking peace and safety for those affected. Through solat hajat (prayers of need) and doa selamat (supplications seeking safety), Jakim is extending its support and prayers to the people in these regions.

Prayer Sessions at Major Mosques

Jakim director-general Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee has announced that prayer sessions will be held at three major mosques under the department’s purview:

  • The National Mosque in the federal capital
  • The Putra Mosque
  • The Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque in Putrajaya

These solat hajat and doa selamat sessions will take place after the Maghrib prayer on Thursday and after the Friday prayer at the three mosques. Jakim is urging all mosques and surau to join in these prayers to seek Allah’s mercy during this trying time.

Condemnation of Attacks

Jakim has strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s attacks on Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen. The ongoing conflict in the region has resulted in devastating casualties and injuries, with innocent women and children bearing the brunt of the violence.

United Nations secretary-general Antonio Guterres has also called for a ceasefire to end the escalating violence in the Middle East. The need for peace and humanitarian aid is critical as the situation continues to worsen.

Global Impact

Israel’s military actions have sparked outrage and condemnation worldwide. Recent reports of ground campaigns and airstrikes have led to further loss of life and destruction in the region. The conflict in Syria and Lebanon has escalated, causing widespread fear and uncertainty.

As the world watches these events unfold, the power of prayer and solidarity can offer hope and support to those affected by the ongoing crisis. Jakim’s efforts to hold solat hajat and doa selamat demonstrate a commitment to peace and compassion in the face of adversity.

Together, we can stand united in prayer and support for the people of Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, hoping for a swift end to the violence and a return to peace and stability in the region.
