Johor Police to Dispose of RM68.88 Million Worth of Confiscated Drugs and Items
Johor police chief Comm Datuk M. Kumar announced that confiscated drugs and seized items worth RM68.88 million over the span of more than two decades will be disposed of. Here are the details of this significant development:
Disposal of Drugs and Seized Items
- Quantity: 989.21kg of drugs and 7,479.90 litres of liquid drugs
- Types of Drugs:
- Heroin: 53.36kg
- Cannabis: 19.86kg
- Ketamine: 45.27kg
- Methamphetamine: 446.21kg
- MDMA: 1.16kg
- Ketum leaves: 339.12kg
- Equipment: Goods to be disposed of also include equipment used by syndicates to process drugs
Disposal Process
The disposal will be carried out by Kualiti Alam Sdn Bhd at Bukit Pelanduk, Negri Sembilan, ensuring proper handling and disposal of the substances.
Comparison to Previous Year
Comm Kumar highlighted that the amount of drugs being disposed of this time is significantly higher compared to the previous year. In the previous disposal, 322.13kg of drugs and 1,562.60 litres of drugs in liquid form, estimated to be worth about RM5.43 million, were disposed of.
Recent Arrests and Seizures
- Arrests: 19,726 individuals were arrested between Jan 1 and Oct 9 this year for various drug offences.
- Seizures: Johor police seized 5.48 tonnes of drugs estimated to be worth RM58.35 million during the same period. Additionally, goods worth RM16 million were also seized in connection with the cases.

Comm Kumar urged the public to continue assisting the police by reporting any illegal activities and being vigilant. The public’s cooperation is crucial in eradicating drug addiction, and informers’ identities will be kept confidential.
