At the TV Mania awards gala, Răzvan Simion was in attendance. The presenter was honored for the morning show he has moderated for 16 years, alongside his colleague Dani Oțil. Their show, SuperNeatza cu Răzvan și Dani on Antena 1, was awarded “Best daytime entertainment show”. Despite having won numerous awards throughout his career, Răzvan Simion covets one that other colleagues have received. And speaking of other colleagues, the famous presenter reveals in an exclusive interview with CANCAN.RO why he did not follow their example and transition to online.
Răzvan Simion and his colleague Dani Oțil made an appearance at an awards gala where they were recognized for their work on the morning show at Antena 1. The two have been a team for 16 years and have a collection of awards to their name. They are friends in real life, so their banter is quite frequent. Find out how Dani teases Răzvan, how the presenter responds, and what he has achieved at the age of 44 that he wishes he had done sooner in the following paragraphs.
## Razvan Simion: “Some money is refused!”

“Most of the awards aren’t at home, they’re at the studio. Over the years, I’ve received many awards, but there’s one missing: The sexiest TV presenter. When we joined Antena, Radu Vâlcan and Mircea Radu were winning all the awards. There was no room for us. That category is no longer given, I talked to the people and told them it’s not possible. It’s the best daytime entertainment show. When we started at Antena 16 years ago, no one wanted this time slot, and no one thought anyone would watch TV past 9:00. Now, everyone is fighting for this slot. Everyone wants to do things, even the smallest TV stations have morning programs. We are like their godfathers, because if you look closely, they resemble us. Big ideas are in the air. Online has borrowed a lot from TV, there is no disconnect between TV and online,” said Răzvan Simion to CANCAN.RO.
When asked if he is bothered by the fact that other shows have adopted the format of the show he and Dani Oțil host, Răzvan Simion claims not to be. On the contrary, other morning shows motivate him. “I’m not bothered by the similarities with other shows. Competition only makes you stronger. If you walk the streets in Italy or France, you’ll see that where croissants are sold, there’s another bakery with a different type of croissant next to it because that street is where croissants are eaten. If there was no competition, you would stagnate. Everyone knows how to make tiramisu, but we do it better,” said the Neatza presenter.
Many TV presenters in Romania have transitioned to online, where they host various podcasts. The online space has gained momentum in recent years, and several online shows were nominated at the event, with one of them winning an award. And speaking of online, we were curious to know if Răzvan Simion had ever considered entering this space.
“I feel like I missed the boat, I had friends who insisted a few years ago to do this, during the pandemic specifically, when everyone at tonight’s event was awarded. I feel like everything has been said, there might be one more podcast. Second, I have to find content for four hours a day. I have to say things, do things, ask questions. I’m drained, I can’t do it anymore. After the show, I need my time. There are more events, more obligations, I just can’t. And if I did that too, I really wouldn’t have time to live my life. Why would I do that? To accumulate what exactly? Fans? Many already watch, fame? Everyone knows me. Money? Yes, money, but what do I do with it if I don’t have time?! Some money is even refused because it’s useless to have it if you can’t do anything with it,” said Răzvan Simion.
## Presenter’s TV Regret: “If I knew at 20, I’d be better off. I wouldn’t have…”

Răzvan Simion is known for always being impeccably dressed! Always well put together and coordinated, the TV presenter attracts numerous looks, but also jokes, especially from his colleague Dani. More than once, his friend and fellow presenter has joked about the elegant way Răzvan dresses. So, when asked what he would wear on the last day of the world, the charismatic TV personality had only one dilemma, to which he answered himself.
“What would I wear for the end of the world, that’s the question. Dani jokes about me and I always respond: This might be my last day on earth: Would you want to haunt dressed in a shabby tracksuit, with holes, a fuzzy T-shirt, and an ugly jacket? No, you’d want to haunt like this.”
