Breaking News: Russian Gas Exports to Europe Remain Stable Amid Supply Dispute
On Wednesday, Gazprom reported that Russian gas exports to Europe via Ukraine were steady, despite a halt in supply to Austria’s OMV. The Vienna-based company stated that Gazprom had stopped supply over a contractual disagreement, while Gazprom has not yet provided a comment on the situation.
Although it is uncertain where the gas volumes intended for OMV have been redirected, Slovak state-owned firm SPP confirmed that they are still receiving gas from Russia. They also noted that there is still significant demand for Russian gas in Europe.
Gazprom announced that it would send 42.4 million cubic metres of gas to Europe via Ukraine on Wednesday, maintaining the same volume as the previous day. Nominations for flows to Austria from Slovakia remained unchanged, approximately 13% below pre-supply halt levels to OMV. Nominations to the Czech Republic from Slovakia were consistent with this month’s levels.
Meanwhile, nominations for gas flows into and out of Slovakia showed minimal fluctuations, according to data from transmission system operator Eustream.
