Silvia Intxaurrondo Responds to Accusations of Misinformation by Pablo Motos
Silvia Intxaurrondo has responded to the accusations of misinformation made by Pablo Motos on Monday regarding Televisión Española. At the end of the broadcast of El Hormiguero, the host delivered a monologue lasting nearly five minutes, in which he criticized TVE for its journalistic practices in the handling of the controversy between his show and La Revuelta. Motos was particularly harsh on the public television station, accusing it of being close to spreading misinformation: “It is very surprising that no one from TVE has called us or Atresmedia. If it was so important, the logical thing would have been to call the other party involved. We find it hard to believe that there are no hidden interests behind this distorted version,” he warned.
Silvia Intxaurrondo’s Response
On Tuesday morning, the presenter and journalist of La hora de la 1 took to social media to refute Motos’ accusations. She posted a strong message on X: “Pablo Motos delivers a speech against misinformation based on the image of a fake news,” referring to the background image used by the Antena 3 host during his speech. This image displayed a headline from El Mundo stating that RTVE had opened its news with the controversy between La Revuelta and El Hormiguero, a piece of information that had to be corrected later on.

Setting the Record Straight
In his remarks, Motos emphasized the need to “restore the truth” in the face of a “distorted version spread by a public television that deemed this to be one of the three most important issues of the day.” That day was Friday, November 22, the day after the controversial broadcast of La Revuelta, which was left without a guest due to alleged pressures from El Hormiguero. In response, Intxaurrondo listed the order of the agenda for her program and other news programs on the network on that day: “The morning show at 06:00 opened with Aldama. La Hora de la 1 at 08:00 opened with Aldama. The 15:00 newscast opened with Aldama. The 21:00 newscast opened with Aldama.” The La 1 presenter also pointed out that the ongoing TV controversy was not even among the top three news items in any of the editions: “It was the last in all the summaries. In La Hora de la 1, it was the sixth and final topic,” she concluded.
Intxaurrondo revisited this issue live on Tuesday on La Hora de la 1. “Pablo Motos accused us of spreading misinformation. It’s like the world turned upside down. We want to debunk this so that when you watch us, you know you are in the right place, we do not misinform,” she said on the show she hosts, going on to read the agenda item by item from the previous Friday.
