Two Men and a Woman Arrested for Trafficking Drugs in Bucharest

On November 19th, two men and a woman were arrested in Sector 1 of Bucharest after being caught trafficking drugs. They attempted to hide the drugs in the backpack of an eight-year-old child who was in the car with them.

The Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism announced that prosecutors from the Central Structure ordered the detention of two men and a woman, aged 30, 31, and 36, investigated for trafficking high-risk drugs and engaging in unauthorized operations with psychoactive substances.

The three were caught in traffic on the evening of November 19th while transporting approximately 10 grams of cocaine, 10 grams of MDMB-4en-PlNACA mixed with the psychoactive substances MDMB-INACA and MDMB-BUTINACA, and 6 foils of MDMB-4en-PlNACA intended for sale.

“In an attempt to hide the prohibited substances, the 36-year-old defendant and the 31-year-old defendant handed a minor, aged 8, who was accompanying them in the car, a bag containing the mixture of high-risk drugs and psychoactive substances and hid the foils of the high-risk drug in the minor’s school backpack,” DIICOT stated.

Legal Proceedings and Child Protection

On Tuesday, November 26th, a judge at the Bucharest Tribunal ordered the pretrial detention of the defendants for a period of 30 days.

The child was taken into emergency care by the DGASPC Prahova, and a special protection measure was implemented by placing the child in the care of a foster parent.

The judicial activities were carried out in collaboration with the police from D.G.P.M.B. – Section 4 Police and the Organized Crime Combat Brigade in Bucharest. The operation was supported by the gendarmes from the Special Intervention Brigade of the Gendarmerie.
