The earnings season has kicked off with a bang, and the majority of OMXS30 companies have released their financial reports. To the delight of many shareholders, the proposed dividends for 2025 have also been communicated.
The company proposing the largest total dividend is the trucking giant Volvo, which is suggesting distributing 37.6 billion kronor to its shareholders. Close behind is the major bank Nordea, which has proposed a dividend of 36 billion kronor (converted from euros). Electrolux is the only OMXS30 company, like last year, that is not proposing any dividend.
A review by Placera shows that the proposed dividends amount to a whopping 232 billion kronor. Still pending are reports from giants such as Handelsbanken, Astra Zeneca, and Saab, which will be released next week.
SEB chose not to increase its dividend. In an interview with Affärsvärlden about the decision, CEO Johan Torgeby commented that it was not due to last year’s heated debate about bank profits.
“No, the reason we are not proposing an increased dividend is more about my perspective that it is desirable to have both buybacks and dividends,” he said.
