Dogecoin Foundation and Board of Advisors
In 2014, members of the Dogecoin team formed a non-profit foundation to help support, advocate, protect the trademark, and run the cryptocurrency project, among other things. However, over time, the foundation was broken up.
Afterward, the foundation was relaunched in 2021, with a “new focus on supporting the Dogecoin ecosystem and community, and promoting the long-term future of the Dogecoin Blockchain.” When the project started, it had a lot of people who worked on it, but now it also has a group of people who have worked in the industry for a long time as advisers.
It says on the foundation’s website that the board of directors will meet once a month to talk about problems with Dogecoin.
People who are on the project’s advisory board are Billy Markus, who made Dogecoin, Max Keller, who made Ethereum, and Jared Birchall, who runs the Musk family office.
Members of the Board of Advisors will work in a variety of ways. When the project is done, Keller will be the project’s technical advisor. Markus will be in charge of the project’s community and memes, though. Buterin will be a blockchain and crypto advisor for the foundation, and Birchall will work for Elon Musk as a lawyer and financial advisor.
A first task for the Board of Advisors is to get three-year funding that would allow them to hire a small, dedicated team to work on Dogecoin full-time. This is how things have worked up until now: Volunteers have done most of the work on the environment.
