QANplatform recently announced a groundbreaking milestone: its quantum-resistant technology is now being utilized by an EU country within the public sector. This move marks a significant step forward in bolstering government-owned cybersecurity infrastructure against potential quantum computing attacks.

The announcement, made in Zug, Switzerland, featured Johann Polecsak, Co-Founder and CTO of QANplatform, alongside CEO Patrick Storchenegger of QAN’s Intellectual Property (IP) holding company. Together, they revealed the integration and implementation of post-quantum cybersecurity (PQC) solutions based on QAN’s blockchain platform. These solutions adhere to the quantum-resistant recommendations set forth by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and are being embedded into enterprise software.

Patrick Storchenegger expressed pride in the successful integration of QAN’s technology, emphasizing its role as a pivotal component in fortifying the country’s software with a post-quantum cybersecurity layer. This enhancement is poised to strengthen the nation’s strategic position in safeguarding its operations.

Johann Polecsak emphasized the importance of staying ahead in cybersecurity, particularly in the era of ‘Store now, decrypt later’ (SNDL) threats. SNDL involves attackers collecting encrypted data with the intention of decrypting it later using more powerful computing methods, such as quantum computers. QANplatform has proactively addressed this challenge by developing immunity against quantum computer attacks.

The rapid advancement in quantum computing, exemplified by IBM’s Condor, a 1000+ qubit powerhouse, has underscored the urgency for robust cybersecurity measures. With the US White House and organizations like NATO and the World Economic Forum prioritizing post-quantum cybersecurity, the EU is keen on maintaining its competitiveness in the global quantum race. Initiatives like the Quantum Technologies Flagship, backed by a significant budget, highlight the EU’s commitment to staying at the forefront of quantum technology and cybersecurity.

For national security reasons, specific details about the EU country implementing QANplatform’s technology cannot be disclosed.
